Answer: Samson

"And Samson said unto them, I will now put forth a riddle unto you: if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty change of garments: But if ye cannot declare it me, then shall ye give me thirty sheets and thirty change of garments. And they said unto him, Put forth thy riddle, that we may hear it." (Judges 14:12-13 KJV)

"And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson's wife, Entice thy husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father's house with fire: have ye called us to take that we have? is it not so? And Samson's wife wept before him, and said, Thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a riddle unto the children of my people, and hast not told it me. And he said unto her, Behold, I have not told it my father nor my mother, and shall I tell it thee? And she wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to pass on the seventh day, that he told her, because she lay sore upon him: and she told the riddle to the children of her people." A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter." (Revelation 8:10-11 NIV)

9. Two "lawyers" are mentioned in scripture. Who are they?
Answer: Any two of: Gamaliel, Zenas, Tertullus, or Jesus

"Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;" (Acts 5:34 KJV)

"Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them." (Titus 3:13 KJV)

Also a participant provided this submission which is fondly accepted:
"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:" (1 John 2:1 KJV)

Note: in Acts 24:1 the NIV translation uses the word lawyer for Tertullus's occupation. The KJV/NKJV use the word orator. By review of Strong's lexicon, it would appear that the word could be translated as such. Therefore, Tertullus is also accepted.

"Five days later the high priest Ananias went down to Caesarea with some of the elders and a lawyer named Tertullus, and they brought their charges against Paul before the governor." (Acts 24:1 NIV)

10. In order to bind a contract, who took off his shoe and gave it to his neighbor?
Answer: Boaz (in order to fulfill the role of kinsman-redeemer for Ruth
"Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbour: and this was a testimony in Israel. Therefore the kinsman said unto Boaz, Buy it for thee. So he drew off his shoe. And Boaz said unto the elders, and unto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, of the hand of Naomi. Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day." (Ruth 4:7-10 KJV)
