Psalm 103 as Personal Prayer
by Jim Milligan

Following is personal revision of Psalm 103 to make it into a personal preayer to the Lord. The original text is from the New International Version. Psalm 103 tells us of God's great love for each of us.

1  Praise You LORD, with all my soul;
with all my inmost being I praise Your holy name.

2  Praise You LORD, with all my soul,
I do forget not all Your benefits;

3  You forgive all my sins and heal all my diseases,

4  You redeem my life from the pit
and crown me with love and compassion,

5  You satisfy my desires with good things so that
my youth is renewed like the eagle's.

6  LORD, You work righteousness and justice
for all the oppressed.

7  You made known Your ways to Moses,
Your deeds to the people of Israel:

8  LORD, You are compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.

9  You will not always accuse,
nor will You harbor Your anger forever;

10  You do not treat me as my sins deserve or repay me
according to my iniquities.

11  For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is Your love for those who fear You;

12  as far as the east is from the west,
so far have You removed my transgressions from me.

13  As a father has compassion on his children,
so You, LORD, have compassion on those who fear You;

14  for You know how I am formed,
You remember that I am but dust.

15  As for me, my days are like grass,
I flourish like a flower of the field;

16  the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.

17  But from everlasting to everlasting
Your love is with me because I fear You,
and Your righteousness with my children's children;

18  with those of us who keep Your covenant and
remember to obey Your precepts.

19  You, LORD, have established Your throne in heaven,
and Your kingdom rules over all of us.

20  Praise You, LORD, Your mighty angels, do Your bidding,
they obey Your word.

21  Praise You, LORD, all Your heavenly hosts,
Your servants, do Your will.

22  Praise You, LORD, all Your works are everywhere
in Your dominion. Praise You, LORD, with all my soul.
